Karma Farm Mart was established in 2019, with one outlet in Motithang and the other in Hejo, primarily to narrow the gap between the farms and the markets. The lack of access to a reliable market continues to be a huge bottleneck for a vast majority of farmers in the country. Most farming communities are located far away from the markets and the extreme geographical topographyand lack of logistical facilities make the marketing of farm produce even more difficult.
Karma Farm Mart provides an outlet for farmers to market a wide range of livestock, poultry, dairy and agricultural products.
Karma Farm Mart strives to connect smallscale farmers to the market by providing an easily accessible platform to market their farm produce. It also serves as an important part of the agricultural value chain to enhance access to high quality farm produces to end consumers through value addition.
Karma Farm Mart promotes ‘Grown in Bhutan’ produces to encourage and boost the production and consumption of local agricultural products.
