Karma Integrated Wood Processing Industry (KIWPI) is the newest unit under the Karma Group, established in 2025 at Pekarzhing LAP, Pasakha, Chhukha. Building on the strong reputation of the “Karma” brand as a trusted household name in Bhutan and neighboring towns in India, the Group entered the timber processing industry following the Government’s decision to lift the moratorium on timber exports.
The unit places strong emphasis on the use of legally harvested timber and operates in full compliance with the environmental and sustainability standards prescribed by the Department of Forests and Park Services. Karma Integrated Wood Processing Industry is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery for processing high-quality veneers and sawn timber, primarily for export markets.
The facility employs close to 40 personnel, comprising 10 Bhutanese nationals and 30 expatriate workers. It has an installed production capacity of 2,000 cubic feet of veneer per day, reflecting its modern manufacturing capabilities and operational scale.
KIWPI sources its raw materials from both private forests and Government Reserve Forests allocated for extraction by the Department of Forests and Park Services. As a growing player in the timber processing industry and in response to increasing market demand, the unit has planned future expansions, including the production of block boards and finger-joint boards.
