Karma Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies was established under Karma Group with the overarching objective of supplying pharmaceutical and medical products to the healthcare sector.
The Unit branched out from Karma Tshongkhang in 2010 as per the Drug Regulatory Authority’s regulations. Karma Group has many years of prior experience as the official agent and distributor of various medical products in the country. It was therefore only a matter of re-aligning the Group’s business goals with the overall, larger priorities of the health sector in the country to meet the emerging medical health challenges.
The Venture was primarily inspired by the importance laid on the free health care services in the country by Bhutan’s farsighted Monarchs. As a private business with a strong social mandate, Karma Group hoped to play a role in the healthcare system by providing a sustained and continuous flow of medical and pharmaceutical products. Karma Group had both the experience and the expertise to initiate this business and extend its support to the health sector. Karma Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies focus on human and veterinary medical products like pharmaceutical drugs & vaccines, medical equipment & instruments, laboratory reagents, chemicals & glassware, and medical consumables, among others.
